Does anyone know what the connection that's being made to the KATY west of the Hwy 40 bridge is? I assume it's a connection to either the Lewis or Clark hiking trail based on it's location. Does anyone know for sure?

I have not been down there this year, but I recall reading something about the Missouri Research Park connection to the Katy, which would seem right for that area, but I was not aware that they were actually going to build it.

On another note, connection to Machens finally going to be finished? This may be a joke, but here is an article:

My husband and I checked out that new section yesterday and it connects to Research Park. Its paved for about 1/2 mile, then its gravel with some ruts as its still under construction. It ends at a Duckett Creek Water Treatment plant, then you bike up a road to get to the Research Park. It will be a very pretty trail with a clear stream running near it.

There's a new bench between Black Walnut and Machens. Last year was the toilet facility and now a bench and now progress on the trail between St. Charles and mm 33? No more wading through waist/chest high grass? What will I ever do with my tick and chigger repellant??

Thanks for the info. The more I thought it about, it isn't far enough west to be in the Lewis & Clark area. I assume it will be open to bicyle traffic?? That will make a nice loop for anyone along 94. I live near Kisker & 94, so I could take Pittman hill to the bottom, catch the KATY, get off at Research Park and make my way back a couple different ways.
