I have rode all of the Katy except for the section from St. Charles to Machens. I plan to ride this section in September. I know the trail ends at someone's property in Machens. Is there anything I should know about the ride itself? I have heard in the past that it can be very muddy.

I just rode past the "low point" sign the other day. It's between the St. Charles trailhead and the Black Walnut trailhead. It winds through a wooded area unlike the rest of the trail. It is not the crushed limestone that you typically see on the rest of the trail. It is a dirt surface that can be a bit muddy after a rain. Since it is tree covered, it doesn't dry out.
