How many bike spots on Amtrak

Trying to plan a Katy ride and finding that Amtrak bike tickets are quickly sold out weeks in advance.

Is there that much demand or just so few spots available?

Few spots available creates demand on popular times when the weather is favorable.

Agree that bike reservations are difficult. Luckily found one on June 7. Found an opening from stl to lees summit.
